Expanding School Garden

Our goal is to double the size of the nursery and create additional space for sustainable methods of growth.

We will grow additional vegetables and fruit in conjunction with the lessons presented throughout the BTE curriculum. The goal is to feed each student three times a day for the school year and provide produce for local establishments in the community.

FOCUS & STRATEGY

Developing Leaders Through Our Experiential Learning Models, Reconnection and Global Collaboration

The Ashan Foundation is developing sustainable practices and facilitating strategic partnerships throughout the garden (the African continent) and across the diaspora. We work with local leaders, also known as Garden Curators, to develop systems that are established through ecoliteracy, food security and entrepreneurial activations.

Our goal is to facilitate multiple pathways of collaboration that connect like minded individuals together to address specific challenges with practical solutions. Our partnership models provide projected outcomes, accountability and deliverables for each project.

Our Caretaking Partners will receive:

  1. Milestone reports around the goals implemented during the project term

  2. Cultural connection and participate in scheduled meetings (Zoom) with an Ashan facilitator and the Garden Curator of the project

  3. Explore long term connection points and to participate in a site visitation of the project

Our Garden Curators will share:

  1. Culturally sustainable practices that are being implemented towards community building (food security/health)

  2. Reports around community awareness and practical experiential learning outcomes (Back To Eden learning experience/Light Your Path technical training)

  3. Entrepreneurial reports of progress, the challenges and practical solutions (micro businesses)

three levels of Caretaking PArtnerships:

$25 a month - will help sustain the initial expenses needed to support one of the experiential entrepreneurial projects in Uganda, Ghana, Zambia or Nigeria

$250 a quarter - will support one of our entrepreneurial women projects in Nigeria or Zambia

$5,000 a year - will assist in sustaining one of our community centered ecosystems in Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria or Zambia
